Kimberly K Douglass Auction, LLC held another successful semi-annual Automobilia Auction on Saturday, October 28th in the “Treasure Barn”, a multi-purpose building within Jakes Flea Market in Barto Pennsylvania. Kim attributes the auction’s success to her knowledgeable buyers.
Some of the highlights of the auction were a large grouping of quality tin, porcelain and wood signs. A Coca-Cola lollypop sign sold for $1,980 (All prices include a 10% buyer’s premium). A large tin Dodge Brother’s sign sold for $1,650.
The sale included a large grouping of advertising service station ephemera and parts cabinets. A tall “Gas Boy” gas pump needing restoration brought $880. One of the largest and best groupings of MoPar N.O.S. parts brought buyers from surrounding states who competed in lots of spirited bidding. The MoPar parts included chrome trim, switches, lights, seat covers, brakes, shock absorbers, sales literature, parts manuals, showroom advertising and dealer give-a-ways. The N.O.S. MoPar parts from the 1940’s through 1970’s were well represented and covered more than two dozen 8’ tables.
The pedal cars, bicycles and scooters also drew a lot of interest. A model-T child’s motorized car in running condition brought $1,220. A John Deere pedal tractor realized $470 and a 1939 Ford-type limited edition from Starbucks brought $330- both needing restoration. From the first to the last lot there was interest that kept the crowd around waiting to see what the next item would bring.
The auction company is in the process of a name change and will and will be known as Kimberly K. Auction Company. Kimberly K Auction, LLC held its third auction for the Estate of Elmer Heintz of Sumneytown, PA. The collections of Mr. Heintz filled the building and attracted close to 200 attendees on Saturday, June 11th. The auction was held in the “Treasure Barn” located at Jake’s Flea Market in Barto, PA. The enthusiastic crowd was able to bid on items from the Heintz collection with 2 to 3 auctioneers selling consecutively. The auction included antique tools & hardware, furniture, books & ephemera and a wide selection of antiques.
There were over 18 quilts, red ware, stoneware, unusual kitchen items, weather vanes, bucket benches, country cupboards and more. The top seller of the day was a beautiful Roycroft book cabinet with original finish. The cabinet quickly reached the selling hammer price of $15,950 (Prices realized include Buyer’s Premium). A primitive wooden painted carving of a penguin, standing over 30” tall, realized $522.50. Two top quilts of the day were an eight-pointed star for the hammer price of $440 and a Caesar’s Crown patchwork pattern for $412.50. A stretcher-based farm table brought $467.50 while a beautiful red painted two door milk cupboard realized $742.50 and a Montgomery County blanket chest with red wash $440.
Advertising items held the attention of many bidders and a glass Planters Salted Peanut jar with original label brought $165 and a Cinco Cigar sign realized $715. Also included in the auction was a large collection of antique tools. Some of the highlights included a Stanley plane #1 Sweetheart model for $440, a Stanley #2 Sweetheart for $399. A Stanley Bedrock #603 Flatside plane brought $143.
